We have two live music and entertainment shows Friday through Saturday. First dinner seating is at 8:00 pm and our second seating is at 11:00 pm. Doors open at 7:30 pm for cocktails and general admission. Dinner reservation guests should arrive promptly and with all guests in attendance prior to being seated. We have a 15 minute maximum hold time for all table reservations. A Credit Card is held for all reservations. 24hr cancellation policy. $50 per person charge for no-shows.
Dinner & Reservations
Our sharable prix-fixe menu is $85 upstairs and $105 downstairs on our main floor (Friday-Saturday). Dinner reservations include all items listed in the menu paired with our spectacular Tucán show followed by a live band. Beverages are separate.
The menu includes a variety of savory dishes and chef’s selection for dessert. The Chef updates our menu often, to provide a range in your dining experience.
There are two shows Friday and Saturday. Guests in first dinner seating have the table for only the first show. After the first show, the table will be turned over to new guests arriving for the last show. We welcome first show dinner guests to continue the night at the Bar and in standing room. Guests in the second dinner seating may keep their table for the duration of the evening.
Our second half of programming for the evening begins at 1:30am. Enjoy pulsating tropical rhythms fused with a variety of electronic music by local to international DJs, coupled with live percussion.
We encourage all of our guests to fix up and look sharp by coming in cocktail attire or formal wear. Please note: Casual attire such as flip flops, t-shirts or beach wear will not be admitted. This is showbiz, kid!
For guests bringing minors to dine at El Tucán, please note that we accept 18 and under between 7:30 – 11:00pm. Our venue strictly enforces 21+ at any bar area. After 11:00pm, El Tucán is 21+.
About the Band
Maykel Blanco, was born on January 21, 1981 in Havana, in a family that has nothing to do with music. But he liked listening different radio music programs and their parents were very good dancers; he enjoyed listening and humming popular songs. Since he was very little, he used to be involved in school cultural Activities, as well as in his neighbourhood and in different public places, where he sang, danced and imitated artist in fashion, sometimes with saucepans, boxes or anything that might be percussed.
At the age of 12, he began to study percussion at night school “Geraldo Guanche”, later on, at the conservatory “Amadeo Roldan”. When he was just 15 years old, he established his own group, and began to obtain great successes in the movement of amateur artist, receiving multiple awards.
At 18 years old, he formed his first orchestra: “Suprema Ley”, associated to the “Centro Provincial de la Música Rafael Somavilla” in the province of Matanzas. Just 2 years later as the orchestra was created, the record company (label) “Envidia Record” from Spain, included them in their catalog.
The young Maykel working very hard will produce over 10 CDs, and recording as a percussionist in more than 40 CDs and will compose a big part of the songs of the Jazz group “Havana Express”
In 2005 he assumed the musical direction of “Salsa Mayor”, devoting all his energy, creativity and his musical talent to it, will receive 5 nominations and an award as “The Best Art Direction.”
